Physical Oceanography

I have no formal teaching commitments now that I am retired, but "Doing Physical Oceanography" is still fun. I have been studying the deep flows in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea and their connection to the open Atlantic, as well as the strange mechanism of ring shedding from the Loop Current. I'm co-editor of a recent AGU monograph on the Circulation in the Gulf of Mexico. I am trying to understand the low-frequency variability of sea level in the Atlantic and along the U.S. coasts.
