I
am interested in documenting and, when possible, understanding the
oceanic variability in the equatorial region. For that, I have used all
sorts of data (satellite, current-meter moorings, hydrographic
profiles, etc.). My dissertation focused on the Atlantic Ocean, but, as
part of my post doc, and now as a scientist, I have been working on observations in the
equatorial Pacific Ocean. I think there is a great deal to learn about
the similarities and differences between these two major oceans.
